Olivia

Raising my daughters on our ranch in Arizona I was often struck by the impact that animals have on the growth of a child. The chance to care for a being smaller and more needy than they are teaches compassion and responsibility, and allows them the chance to feel needed. My good friend Olivia Miller, daughter of Jeff and Michele, modeled patiently for this piece. I enjoy thinking that some day down the road Olivia's great grandchildren will look at this piece and fully realize that Great Grandma used to be a little girl too.
